I am running the Bristol Half Marathon on Sunday 6th September 2009 to raise funds for the Gloucester Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre.  I visited the Centre when I was Sheriff of Gloucester and was very impressed with the way they support people with MS.  It is largely run by volunteers and they receive no NHS or Government support.  The Mall Gloucester has chosen to support the Centre this year and I am teaming up with them to help reach their target of raising £10,000.  It's my first half-marathon for twenty years - and during that time I have become less fit, heavier and greyer!  I've been training hard, but it will still be an effort, so please sponsor me!
