I have recently taken up the role of Service coordinator for the Fire Fighters Charity in Merseyside and I would like to encourage everybody in the service to do something amazing in 2016 however, big or small and raise funds for this fantastic charity. The charity is the leading provider of services that enhance quality of life for serving and retired firefighters, fire personnel and their families. The vision of the charity is to make a positive difference by supporting people in the fire and rescue community when they are in need. Over the years, they have helped hundreds of thousands of individuals by providing world-class treatment and support services.

It costs over £8 million every year to keep the Charity running, and they are completely reliant upon donations and fundraising, so your support is very much needed.

I have enjoyed many years of playing sport and now the rugby boots have been hung up I am always on the look out to do something different.

in 2016 I will aim to complete the London Marathon, Liverpool rock 'n' roll marathon and Mont Blanc Ultra marathon (52 miles climbing to 6500m) in consecutive months, April, may and June.

this will push me to my physical limits and all monies raised will be going to the FFC so that they can continue to provide an excellent service to all persons within the fire service family.
