Milton Keynes Marathon 2013 · 6 May 2013 ·

We support the growing number of people in and around Milton Keynes affected by a life-limiting illness. We give our patients and their loved ones specialist, personalised care - free of charge. Only 13.8% of our costs are met by ongoing NHS funding, so we’re dependent on your support. Thank you.

Story

You might say I'm an unlikely candidate for a Marathon.

My weakness for a hearty pork-pie and passion for discovering delicious new dark ales indicate that you are almost definitely right.

However, I have (temporarily) given all this up, and replaced them with jogging-slightly-faster-than-a-walk-for-a-monotonous-and-unbelievable number-of-hours-and-miles.

I am driven only by the hope that others will pity me and help me to raise some money for Willen Hospice. They are an AMAZING charity who care for very ill people and their relatives, and unbelievably they rely on people like me for 3/4 of thier running costs...

So that's my plea. I am entered into the Milton Keynes Marathon on Bank Holiday Monday 6th May. This will be my first, and I expect last marathon.

Help out with as much as you can - and you're welcome to come and hurl abuse / support if you're in the area :)

Thanks.
