The 6 Peak Challenge · 13 September 2013

Every year we support thousands of children and families right across the country. We provide rehabilitation to help children make the best recovery possible after a serious accident or illness, both at our national specialist centre in Tadworth and in the community.

Story

I will be one of 7 people from Atkins who are walking/climbing the summits of the highest peaks of the six regions of the British Isles.

The Peaks will be walked from sea level to the summit and back. Travel between peaks will be within a 9 seater minibus, so loads of room to stretch and it won't smell a bit inside.

The peaks will be walked in the following order:

  • Isle of Man / Snaefell (2,036 ft)
  • Wales / Snowdon (3,560 ft)
  • England / Scafell Pike (3,209 ft)
  • Scotland / Ben Nevis (4,409 ft)
  • Ulster / Slieve Donard (2,785 ft)
  • Eire / Corran Tuathail (3,306 ft)

The Challenge starts from Laxey Harbour on the Isle of Man on Friday 13th September (Dodgy day i know) at 1330 hrs. We then have 72 hours to successfully complete the Challenge with the timing finishing when we have desended the final summit.

Upon completion of the challenge our team will have trekked almost 50 miles and ascended nearly 20,000 ft, and driven more than 1,000 miles.
