I am hoping to raise money for TLC : see http://www.tlc.org.za/TLC-DW/aboutTLC for more information. This charity supports babies and young children who have been abandoned or orphaned in South Africa by parents who have died of HIV-AIDS or for other reasons. TLC currently has 45 babies in its Nursery and 30 "big kids" in its main house. South Africa is in the middle of its winter and funds raised will go towards new clothing, blankets and winter foods, in addition to nappies, baby formula and other necessities.  I visited the TLC orphanage outside Johannesburg last year and was humbled by the efforts of a few volunteers who, with limited resources, seek to rescue the tiniest victims of a society affected by urbanisation, AIDS and poverty. 

 

It might be a drop in the ocean but any amount that you can contribute would help a few little ones whose lives and plight would otherwise be hopeless. I will match each £1 of sponsorship with 25p up to £1,500.
