South Downs Marathon · 8 June 2013

The Institute for Cancer Vaccines and Immunotherapy (previously Cancer Vaccine Institute) is the only national charity in the UK specifically funding research to fight cancer with vaccines and immunotherapy.

Story

At the age of 20 years old I was diagnosed with malignant Melanoma Skin Cancer, however after a successful operation and thanks to the great care given to me (still to this day) by St George's Hospital and Professor Dalgleish and his team I am pleased to say 14 years later and I am still fit and healthy and ready to run the South Downs Marathon, a tough hilly trail running marathon with a total elevation gain of 5728ft on the 8th June 2013

After my operation I joined a 5 year clinical trial led by Professor Dalgleish to help them with their research and fight against cancer. So this is the why I am trying to raise money for www.cancervaccine.org.uk The Cancer Vaccine Institute (CVI) is the only national charity in the UK exclusively funding research to fight cancer with vaccines and immunotherapy. The ultimate aim is that vaccines will increase survival rates and patients’ quality of life.
