Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of us are aware, the truth about asylum is often in short supply, with the same old myths and scare stories peddled again and again. However what is not in dispute is that the world is in the grip of one of the worst forced displacement crises ever. Over 65 million people around the globe have been forced to flee their homes, put into context - that’s the entire British population having to leave and the majority of these refugees are women and children.

I am go to support by dragging my ageing body up the 3 Highest Peaks in Scotland, England and Wales all within 24 hours. A few facts about the task.

  • 42kms distance
  • 3064m of ascent
  • 5 hours trekking per mountain
  • 11hrs of driving between
  • 24hrs..

My belief in human kindness compels me to trust that as a society we can and will support through funding. I am supporting by donating cash and my time to raise awareness of the needs of the refugees in support of two specific charities; UNHCR and "Help Refugees".

The charities focus on supporting the immediate and long term needs of those who are displaced, including provision of food, shelter and access to information for refugees across Europe.

Your support for such worthy causes will truly change the life of people who have lost everything, every penny counts. Thank you in advance for your kindness.
