Dementia Australia is a unified, national charity for people living with all forms of dementia, their families and carers. We represent the 487,500 Australians living with dementia and the estimated 1.6 million Australians involved in their care. We are the new voice of Alzheimer’s Australia.

Story

I am excited to join these group of guys who are all riding to raise awareness of this cruel disease.  I know that Nick and Pierre both have close family members that have been impacted and personally my grandmother suffered with dementia in her final years.

Someone described this to me as one light bulb being switched off in a big house at a time and the mind just gets darker and darker.  I couldn't imagine what this would be like and hope I never have to.

Not only does this impact the actual person but also all those close family members around them.  I remember the challenges my mum had caring after my granny and it puts a strain on everyone.

Life is short and we never know what lies ahead so fill your head with as many great memories as possible.
