Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
15/05/2012 - Completed the walk in 26 and a bit hours in the end. I am amazed at the achievement to be honest. What turned out to be a very long walk to Brighton ended up with the route covering thick ankle / calf deep mud which covered 40% of the course, about 70 styles that you had to queue up to get over and were very slippery / painful. It turned out that only about 40% of the people that started actually finished and a fairt amount of the ones that did (about 300) do this stuff regularly. This was truly the hardest thing that I have ever done and it was a complete challenge to my mind body and soul. I hit a numbers of walls and just has to keep pushing through to the end. Some of the most difficult bits were the very thick mud, the styles, congestion, stopping, walking all night and only sheer guts, determination, bloody mindedness and the help of my friends that saw me through to the end. Thanks to everybody for their support in person or throuh donations. I seriously could not have done this without you. Thanks and keep it coming...... This page is open for donations until 15/08/2012. Love Paul.
06/05/2012 - As Europe once said - "it's the final countdown"
5-6 days to go and I have pushed on with the training and put my kit out on a chair in readiness. Looking forward to the challenge. Amazed to have smashed my target by so much. Keep it coming if you can - Seriously blown away.
30/04/2012 Countdown now! Less than 2 weeks to go and looking forward to it.
24/04/2012 - Nearly 30 miles today. Walked from Liverpool St in the City to Sevenoaks in Kent. Felt some real pain today at times but felt as though I had achieved something when we arrived. Took 9.5 hours with some breaks which is not bad.
13/04/2012 - Walked home from the City again this week with Danny Major and Hayley Clines. It took about 4.5 hours again. We got really wet in the City due to heavy rain but luckily turned into a nice evening and arrived home at 10:30 PM. Walking to Sevenoaks from the City on the 24th April (nearly 30 miles)
30/03/2012 - A bit sore today. Walked 17 miles home from work last night (from Liverpool Street to Orpington) with Danny Major. Took about 4 hours 15 mins in total. Felt pretty tired but, to be expected after a late night the night before and a full day at work. Still - the weather was nice. Next training walk is 11/04/2012. KEEP UP THE GENEROSITY COS I AM WORKING FOR IT!
27/03/2012 - 2 days away from Dusk to Daylight walk (Thurs 29th March) when the team will be embarking on a 15 mile journey from the city at Dusk to the Daylight Inn in Petts Wood. Thanks to everybody that has given to date. I am really pleased with the response.
17/03/2012 - BLOWN MY TARGET! Thank-you! Absolutely blown away by the generosity of the people that have donated to date. Thank you so much. It is a great charity and your money will do so much good. PP
11/03/2012 - I have taken up the challenge to walk from London to Brighton in less than 24 hours. This is nearly 2.5 marathons. To start the ball rolling on the training front, myself and a few chums from Adapt will be walking home from work (about 17 miles) and finishing in the Daylight (that's the Daylight Inn). More updates to follow.
All money to Scope so, please give what you can.
