Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In October, I will climb to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro, before returning to tell the tale. I will be training long and hard to ensure i won’t fail. Rising 19,340 feet above sea level, Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa and the world’s highest free-standing mountain.
What will await me?
Nothing much...just avalanches, falling rocks, crevasse falls, other falls (including getting hit by falling climbers), severe exhaustion/dehydration, whiteout, hurricanes, lost tents, frostbite, vertigo, altitude sickness, witnessing accidents and deaths of other climbers.
Why on earth would I want to do this?
It will be for a great cause, of course, to raise money for Pendleside Hospice. The hospice offers short term in-patient stays for symptom control, rehabilitation and respite care for patients with cancer or other life-limiting illnesses. The hospice is a charitable organisation and all care is provided free of charge.

I have funded the trip myself which ensures ALL the money sponsored, will go directly to the charity.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
