Well guys, I did it. I crossed the finish line is 4 hours, 44 minutes and 7 seconds.
It was an incredible experience made all the better by the many friends who have been so generous and came to cheer me on along the route. The whole experience was surreal. I've never seen so many strangers wanting another person to succeed. It really was a side of human nature I feel privaleged to have witnessed. But God did hurt. Those last few miles were agony. I've got one black toe and it looks likely I'll lose three toenails, and the aches and pains since have been like nothing I've ever experienced before. I'm really not tempted to do it again but feel proud that so many have supported me to make a difference to a worthy cause.
