Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page
As some of you may know, by brother Andrew was diagnosed with Leukemia in December 2012. He very nearly lost his life at the outset due to many other medical complications, but in true Renton spirit and a lot of help from the Anthony Nolan Trust he went on to find a stem cell donor and fight the disease. He pulled through, but he's still bravely fighting Leukemia to this day, as are thousands of others young and old.
THESE FIGHTERS LIKE MY AMAZING BROTHER NEED HELP. THE ANTHONY NOLAN TRUST NEED MORE DONORS TO GIVE THESE FIGHTERS A CHANCE OF LIFE. AND WE (that's me and you!) CAN HELP THEM!
The Anthony Nolan Trust operate a stem cell donor matching programme. Their aim is to raise more awareness and keep increasing their database of hero's (stem cell donors aged between 16-30). They say it costs £100 to recruit and keep a donor on their register until it's that donor's time to shine and help save somebodies life.
So here's what I'm doing about it. I'm looking to help save 10 lives by raising £1000.
How? On 16th July 2014, in respect of those with cancer and losing their hair due to treatment I will be having my head shaved to the bone at Sir Barbers on Clay Lane. It will stay to the bone for 5 weeks until the 20th of August. I will also be eating less and training hard to lose at least 2 stones in weight in the same 5 week period.
Please only give what you can afford as every pound counts! If you don't wish to donate please tell others about the Anthony Nolan Trust www.anthonynolan.org
I will be posting my pics and weekly weight loss stats on FaceBook
Thanks for reading and donating...Paul
