Shooting Star Children's Hospices is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. Whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months or years, we are here to make every moment count.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Last Summer I stood at the side of the road cheering on our Olympic cyclists and in a moment of Olympic fever was inspired to take up cycling again. As it had been 20 odd years since I last rode a bicycle, what seemed like a great idea on that sunny day didn't seem quite so inspired a few weeks later on that first ride!

Many months and miles on, I have discovered a real love of cycling again and I am honoured to be able to take part in the Ride 100 this Summer.  Starting at the Olympic Stadium in Stratford, we will cycle 100 miles through Surrey (covering some of that same Olympic route!) back to London to the finish line at The Mall.

I am doing this for Shooting Star Chase, a local children’s hospice service, caring for families with a child or teenager with a life-limiting condition. They currently help over 600 families living in London, Surrey and West Sussex. They are there for every step of the family's journey, sharing the good times and helping them through the tough times with practical, nursing and emotional support.

I'm sure you would agree that it's for a great cause and I'd be very grateful if you would consider sponsoring me.

Thank you very much.

Paul
