Update

Thank you everyone for your support and sponsorship.  I climbed Kilimanjaro and reached the top on 1st March 2010.

In Feburary 2010 I am attempting to climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for Demelza Hospice Care for Children.

I have been training in preparation for the climb and am climbing Mount Snowdon on 12th December to get a feel for what it might be like (even if it is only about a fifth of the size!)

I am self funding the trip which means all money donated goes directly to Demelza.

Demelza is a charity providing hospice care for over 450 children with life limiting illnesses and their familes across  Kent, East Sussex and South London.  They provide care at the eight bedded hospice in Sittingbourne and also provide care at home.

Demelza rely almost entirely on voluntary contributions so all donations are welcome.

At 19,340 feet above sea level, Mount Kilimanjaro is 's highest peak and the world's highest free-standing mountain.  On February 22nd, I'll be raising money for this fantastic charity by travelling to and attempting to make the trek to the dominating with my friend Lee Climpson.  Below is an overview of our itinerary:
