Event: Swimathon 2020, from 27 March 2020 to 31 December 2020
Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie are calling on the nation to get down to the pool for Swimathon 2020 - thousands of swimmers, two great causes, one big charity challenge.

Story

On the 27th - 29th March, over 21,000 swimmers will be heading down to over 600 pools across the UK to raise money for two amazing charities and I will be one of them.

Cancer Research UK, the world’s leading cancer charity is dedicated to saving lives through funding research to help prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. Cancer Research UK are the only charity fighting over 200 cancer types but don't receive any government funding for their work, so their progress is all thanks to the support of people like you.

Marie Curie provides expert care, guidance and support for people living with any terminal illness, and their families. Around 2,100 Marie Curie Nurses work day and night, in people’s homes all over the UK, providing hands-on care to people when they need it most.

Let's be honest, it's a sad but inevitable truth that by the time you get to a certain age in life we all have a cancer story to tell either because it has touched us personally or someone close to us. If you would therefore like to use my participation in this year's Swimathon to help raise some money for these two charities then your support would be appreciated and your generous contribution will help do some valuable work.
