Thanks for being my friend / family member / total stranger and taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am not a runner, in fact I have never been a runner! Ask me to go for a walk and I will move my legs in a co-ordinated way with the best of them, but running???

Well sometimes we all need to push outside our comfort zones, and for me a 10k is way up there. I know that for many of you 10k is not really a challenge, and I know I could have gone for the half-marathon, but that may be for next year!

For this year I want to try something 1) that I have never done before and 2) which I think I have a half-decent chance of finishing!

Between now and the 11th May I want you to join my team, so what will that mean?

- I will do my bit and try my best to train so that I can finish this event.

- I will try and post some updates on my progress here and on my Facebook and Twitter pages (you can find me on Facebook here or on Twitter @jackatheart)  

- Perhaps you could sponsor me, every little helps but hey, let's see some big ones, the cause is so worthwhile!

- Perhaps you could join in and actually take part on the day, raising some funds for Release as you do so!

- Please feel free to invite others on to the team via your Facebook, Twitter etc.

- Send me encouraging messages from time to time..

- Anything else you can think of, as long as it's legal and ethical!
