Back in the uk after an amazing and eye opening 18 days in Nepal. Thank you to all those who have supported us and the great charities we represent. If you haven't yet donated it's not too late...

Please sponsor me – I’m climbing the Himalayas to support the fantastic charity ShelterBox. In October 2011 I – along with seven colleagues – will raise money by climbing more than 18,000 feet to the base camp of a virgin peak (i.e., an unclimbed peak) in the Lunag range of the Himalayas. Not heard of the Lunag range? That’s because only one of its five peaks has EVER been climbed before. This means the route we will take is totally remote. It sees no passing trade (unlike the routes to the Everest base camp, which see tens of thousands of people a year). This really is a trek into the unknown and will take us 14 days to complete. What makes this challenge even more remarkable is that Steve and Neil, the experienced climbers who will lead this venture, will head on from the base camp to climb all four of the Lunag’s virgin peaks. No one has ever climbed four virgin peaks in a row. This is a world first. Despite this being, a fantastic adventure and a chance of a lifetime the main reason we are doing this is to raise money for the fantastic charity ShelterBox . ShelterBox provide emergency shelter, warmth and dignity to people around the world. It steps in the wake of a disaster – the Japanese tsunami, New Zealand earthquake and US tornado in recent months alone – and is at the forefront of disaster relief. This remarkable young charity delivers humanitarian aid in the form of a ‘ShelterBox’ of emergency shelter and lifesaving equipment, notably a disaster relief tent that houses up to ten people, as well as anything else a family might need to survive. Its goal is to help 50,000 of the families who lose everything in a disaster every year. As each box costs £590, ShelterBox really needs our help.
