We fund research and raise awareness to create a world free from meningitis

Story

It the early hours of New Year’s Day 2004 Paul suddenly became ill and was rushed into hospital. Despite the best efforts of the staff at Warwick Hospital Paul succumbed to Meningitis. He was a happy, fun loving and funny person with a real lust for life, we all miss him very much.

I will be running the Great North Run (Newcastle to South Shields - 13.1 miles) in memory of Paul on the 16th of September 2012 to raise money for Meningitis Research Foundation. Meningitis kills hundreds of people each year. Every penny raised will go towards one single focus - to find a vaccine to eradicate meningitis and save thousands of lives in the future.

Meningitis is deadly; killing and seriously disabling in hours. Small children and young adults are high risk, but all ages can be affected. Globally 1,000 people die daily. We fundraise to invest in research, campaign for vaccines, provide symptom information and support those already affected.
