Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page
We have both decided to take part in the London to Brighton challenge which will take place on the 25 May, this is a challenging non-stop 100Km,about 62 mile, walk. However you measure it that’s quite a long way! Our target completion time is 27 hours. We are raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and we hope to be able to raise £1000 in sponsorship, but if we can get more that would be great, the goal for all the ‘Team Macmillan’ participants on this walk is £100,000.
Macmillan Cancer Support has been around for over 100 years and is a fantastic organisation providing nurses, health advisors, help and support groups for cancer patients and their families in hospitals and the community and greatly improve the lives of people affected by cancer. They have been of great help to us and our families over the last few years and hopefully the funds we raise through this challenge will help their work continue.
We started a very intensive 15 week training plan early in February to prepare for the walk, we are not the fittest of individuals and as fully qualified couch potatoes training 5 times a week can be hard, I am told walking to the pub does not count, but now we know what the inside of a gym looks like! Apparently pork scratching’s are not part of a healthy nutritious breakfast.
We hope you will be able to support us and Macmillan Cancer Care, anything you can donate is greatly appreciated and will help to support their work.
