On 15th October 2013 our 6 year old nephew Harrison (aka Harribo) was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL).  Life for him and our family changed on that day and for the last seven months has consisted of regular chemotherapy, blood tests, transfusions, lumbar punctures, fevers, low immune system and frequent hospital visits and admissions including periods of isolation. 

Harrison is an amazing little boy with a fantastic spirit and despite everything he is going through medically and physically; dealing with not being able to go to school and do all the regular day to day activities a six year old should be doing, he has amazed everyone by remaining a happy, fun and cheeky little boy who never fails to smile.

With three years of chemo and treatment ahead until Harrisson reaches a full remission, as a family we have decided to take part in The Nuts Challenge to help raise funds for the Emily Ash Trust. The Challenge is a 7.5km run over muddy assault course with over 100 obstacles. For those who dare, have a look at http://www.thenutschallenge.co.uk

The Emily Ash Trust is a small charity which looks after families in Kent, Surrey & Sussex and their ethos is to 'bring sparkle back to children with cancer'.  They have taken the time to get to know Harrison and the whole family and have provided them with a great deal of support over the past months, as well as hosting sibling days, family days, parent pamper evenings, etc.
