Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

You probably know that in April and May of this year I walked on the medieval pilgrims' route across northern Spain. It runs from France to the far west of Spain. I did the first 180 kilometres, to Logrono, the capital of Rioja, and in September I am returning to try to complete the rest of the 800 kilometres (500 miles). To put this in perspective, London to Edinburgh is 403 miles.

Several people have suggested that they'd like to sponsor me on this trip (i.e. this wasn't my idea....) and I have decided to try to raise money for small charity - Aid Africa - which Sarah and I support. (We are both Trustees). On the left are some photos which show aspects of the wonderful work it does - or have a look at the website www.aid-africa.com .

I am setting out on 14 September and hope to be back in the UK on 10th October. I have started a blog which I hope to keep updated on the route (http:/countrycasita.blogspot.com) If you go to that address you can click a little box and be informed whenever I give birth to a literary masterpiece.

I am using JustGiving because it claims to be simple to use and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Aid Africa and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on eligible donations by UK taxpayers. It is also possible to make donations by text...you just text WALK91 and the amount (£1,£5 or £10 only) to 70070 (UK phones only).

So if you can, please dig deep and donate now. Many many thanks!!

Paul
