Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. In June I am competing in “A Day in the Lakes.” Idyllic it may sound, but ADIL isn’t quite that. It’s a triathlon, and it’s:
- 1.2 miles swimming in the cold deep waters of Ullswater – that’ll take about as long as a 10k run; - 56 miles cycling around the Lake District from the North of Ullswater, over Kirkstone Pass (the highest road in England), down east of Windermere then back over Shap Fell; few flat sections, and that’ll take me about as long as a marathon would, and then; - 13 miles run, a half-marathon distance (the same distance as the Great North Run), but on roads, trails and fells along the base of Barton Fell taking in Howtown, Fusedale and Martindale;
I am looking to raise serious money for the WIZO Jaffa Family Centre, which is a symbol of peaceful co-existence and mutual support in the ancient city of Jaffa in Israel, which provides social services for 1300 single-parent families facing educational, economical and emotional challenges, catering for Jews and Arabs, and women, men, and immigrants.
I’m doing the hard bit - please could you do the easy bit by supporting this cause.
