Virgin London Marathon 2010 · 25 April 2010 ·

PARC (Essex) provides play & recreational facilities for children and young adults with additional needs. At PARC we believe, every child has a right to play, regardless of their individual needs. PARC is a place where children can develop, learn and have fun, in a safe and friendly environment.

Story

Hello,

Come the 25th April 2010 when most of you will still be tucked up in bed enjoying a Sunday morning lay in, I shall be under starters orders somewhere in Greenwich Park about to run (or perhaps walk) the Virgin London Marathon.

I have been lucky enough to gain a place to run on behalf of PARC (Play and Resource Centre) a local centre providing much needed support to families who have children with a wide range of additional needs including speech and language difficulties, autism, epilepsy and those with physical and learning difficulties.

My nephew Archie who is soon to become five years old has benefitted immensely from the facilities provided by the centre and his family cannot speak highly enough of how much PARC has helped them.

The motivation to get out of bed (and get back before Harry and Stanly wake up and Sam come to think of it!) in the snow and rain over these last few months has been somewhat difficult at times. Please help me make it all worthwhile by donating whatever you can allowing the invaluable support that the centre provides continue.

If you should so happen to see any footage on the day of any rhinos or banana men several miles in front of me......please don't tell anyone!!!

Many thanks for taking the time to read this.

Best

Paul.
