Oh brilliant, I'm so pleased that you clicked through to my fundraising page.  Actually, of all the people I emailed I had a good feeling that you might be one of those that  would want to support me. As well as being good looking, you just strike me as a naturally generous type.  But before you offer support,  just let me tell you a bit more about why  Grove House is so special.

I have been here nearly 5 years now, and you know how with most jobs the enthusiasm begins to wane after a while, well, with Grove House I find just the opposite.  I've met more and more people, patients and relatives, who we have helped and they all say the same thing:  Grove House is amazing.  It's full of love and yet it runs so professionally.  And I'll tell you why - when patients aren't around, or they have gone home, I hear the nurses talking about the care they have given them.  The way they refer to these patients  in their care, you would think that they were close relatives or loved ones.  Even out of earshot these nurses talk with compassion, emotion and love for the people that they look after.  They form close bonds with the patients, and they suffer when a patient finishes their life's  journey.  Could you do that as a job and maintain that level of humanity?  I bloody couldn't!  I don't have the humility and the compassion.

So please, please help me support this beautiful organisation.  I hope that you never really know what I'm talking about, but rest assured miraculous people perform with miraculous dedication all around me, and we need to spread this care to more areas of this community.

That's it sermon over, and if you don't buy into the emotional side, then sponsor me to suffer.  Don't forget I have to swim 2.4 miles (that's 160 lengths of a standard swimming pool), get out of the water and on to a bike for a 112 mile cycle (yes112 miles), and then get off the bike and run a full marathon (26.2 miles on my little legs)- and this is all on the same day!  I should lose a couple of toe nails, and suffer severe depression at some point in the day.  Surely that's worth a tenner!
