Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm raising money for a charity close to my heart called The Butterfly AVM Charity. It's a family run charity that raises much needed funs for specific research into peripheral, brain & extremity AVMs (Arteriovenous Malformations) with the aim to improve treatments and find a cure.

The charity was set up fund research into AVM's, a condition that affects only 3 in 1 million people and which a good friend of mine, Nicole Christou, 8, suffers from. Due to the rareness of the condition very little is known about AVM's, and there is no cure. The charity is working in partnership with Great Ormand Street Hospital to research and develop specific treatments to improve quality of life for AVM sufferers around the world, and to one day find a cure.

I chose the triathlon because as well as being an intense test of physical and mental strength (am I making it sound challenging enough?) I also can't swim / am scared of swimming in open water. So it's both personally a big challenge and a really worthwhile cause.

Please help me fundraise. Thanks!

Did I mention the triathlon is OLYMPIC DISTANCE - 1.5km swim in the Sepentine, 40km cycle and 10km run.
