We are Fighting AIDS Worldwide to Help save lives

Story

After our disappointing trip to a windy, cloudy airfield in May, we're trying again!!!! Tomorrow everyone hope for good weather, low wind speeds and a space in the clouds.....and I will be able to throw myself through it! Eeek!

So this is the final countdown! Any spare pennies or pounds you may have would be greatly appreciated by a very worthwhile charity! Literally tiny donations will still make a difference to someone’s life and will help us reach our promised target of £15,000 for The Mercury Phoenix.

Firstly, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Your here because I've decided, insanely, that I'm going to be tied to some poor, unsuspecting person and will be throwing us both from a plane on 14th August! A plane 13,000 feet in the air! I know what you’re thinking; they'll still hear me from up there! Let me try to explain how I managed to get myself into this terrifying situation.........

I am currently working for The Dominion theatre, home of the hit musical 'We Will Rock You'. Our theatre supports the work of 'The Mercury Phoenix Trust' charity. Freddie Mercury died of AIDS related causes in London on 24th November 1991. Immediately the remaining members of Queen and Jim Beach their manager took the decision to raise money and awareness about AIDS in his memory. Together they organised the 1992 Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert for AIDS Awareness. The Mercury Phoenix Trust was founded to distribute the monies raised from this concert. Since 1992 the Mercury Phoenix Trust has collaborated with groups as far removed as the World Health Organisation and grass-root organisations run partly by voluntary workers in Africa and India, concentrating on HIV/AIDS education and awareness in the developing world.

At the Dominion Theatre we’re always trying to think of new ways to raise money for such an important cause.  My mad box office manager Fiona decided that throwing herself from a plane was an easier way to raise money than running the London marathon! And so now 13 Dominion theatre and ‘We Will Rock You’ crew have all joined her crazy bandwagon and I am petrified! Please make it worth the risking of my life and everyone else’s hearing by sponsoring me as much as you possibly can, every donation will help! I’m trying to reach my personal target of £500 and a group target of £15,000. Many Thanks……..think of me on the 14th!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity

A big thank you to all who have already donated! It means a lot to have your support and your money will be life changing to the people helped through the Mercury Phoenix Trust.

To all of you who might have just visited but not donated...come on!!! Even just a few pounds are really appreciated by me and the Mercury Phoenix trust! No donation is too small! So please, if you’re reading this spare a few pounds and help me reach my target.
