Virgin London Marathon 2010 · 25 April 2010 ·

We end the needless suffering of animals. We influence decision makers to put animals on the global agenda. We help the world see how important animals are to all of us. We inspire people to change animals’ lives for the better. We move the world to protect animals.

Story

As many of you know I am usually a non-runner, that even finds it hard to go to the gym, but come April I will be running 26.2 miles...for some reason I thought I needed a challenge!

The training itself is proving to be very tough with this lovely unpredictable English weather, but I am making progress albeit slowly, but come the 25th April I will be fully prepared to run the London Marathon.

My motivation is raising money for the World Society for the Protection of Animals which is a charity that recognises animals can also suffer and feel pain.  I totally support charities for us humans, but I feel really strongly that animals (who can't talk for themselves) need to be looked out for.  WSPA is the worlds largest alliance of animal welfare socieities.  They do great work in areas of natural disasters (for example, your donation could go to help the animals in Haiti), they educate governments and local people to animal cruelty and they are working towards global laws to safeguard animal welfare globally.  WSPA is making a difference to animal’s lives around the world and I am very proud to be running for the charity.
Please sponsor me as I will appreciate every penny and it will help me get round the course on the day.
Thank you xxx
