Compassion in World Farming is devoted to improving standards of animal welfare, not just in the UK, but wherever intensive farming takes place. The charity has helped to achieve significant improvements in the way animals are treated while being reared for our consumption - not least, the recognition by the EU in 1997 that animals are 'sentient beings' and can feel pain.

There is still much work to do, but by donating to CIWF, you can help to improve the daily lives of farm animals.
