Thanks for taking the time to visit my page,

So I've decided that I don't abuse myself enough... how about running for 4 hours straight?.. alright I do it! Can you also punch me in the face and set fire to my underwear...? No, actually don't.

Anyway, a flipant comment on my birthday about wanting to run a marathon triggered my cousin Sarah to pipe up and say well you can run for our Charity 'Daisy Garland'.

So for you that don't know, The Daisy Garland Charity was started in 2004 after the death of Daisy Garland from SUDEP(sudden unexpected death in epilepsy patients). Sadly Daisy was only six years old when she died. Her parents Sara & David Garland found that nothing helped or came close to helping until in January 2000 they discovered the Ketogenic Diet, a drug-free treatment which gradually reduced the frequency and severity of Daisy’s seizures.

In the UK there are over 60,000 children under the age of 16 suffering from epilepsy, and a large number of these children have drug resistant epilepsy. The Ketogenic Diet can dramatically recue the severity of all types of seizures, but, due to a lack of NHS funding, this diet is not widely available in the United Kingdom.

The Daisy Garland charity has been funding specialist dieticians since 2006. Their dieticians work within the NHS system initiating and monitoring the Ketogenic Diet.  They have placed dieticians in London (Tooting), Nottingham, Plymouth and Bristol.

So I'm running in aid of the charity that my Aunt and Cousin help run and I really hope that you could donate what you can.  I plan to run the marathon in under 4 hours... I say plan, but I'm doing some good training at the moment and I'm really looking forward to some warmer weather...

So anyway thanks for taking the time out to read my page.

Paul
