Cricket Without Boundaries is dedicated to helping, educating and developing local communities around the world through the spread and growth of cricket. Crucially, CWB also uses cricket as a tool in the fight against AIDS. CWB’s training sessions have at their heart discussion about the disease in terms of prevention, treatment and equality of treatment for those with and without the disease.

Story

On 3rd. March 2012 I am going with a group of volunteers to Rwanda for two weeks to play cricket with the children in schools and orphanages and to help train new adult coaches. The charity CWB was set up 7 years ago following a journey down Africa which my son-in-law Ed Williams made with two graduate friends. They found cricket was a wonderful way to interact with the children and adults and are now also using it to teach about the dangers of HIV/AIDS. Other groups will be going to Kenya, Uganda and Botswana.

Ivor and I are paying all my expenses but I am asking if you will contribute to the fund for bats, ball, stumps, coaching materials, t-shirts with AIDS awareness messages and wrist bands. The T-shirts are a great way of both providing clothing as well as a really important health message (see photo!).

So please dig deep and donate now and lets help run AIDS out of Rwanda!
