It's my 40th birthday on May 29! Having something of a midlife crisis I was horrified at the thought of being 40. But on contemplation I realised that I was very lucky to be that age. Every week, 3 children or young people in Northern Ireland are diagnosed with cancer. So instead of being a frowning fat 40 year old, I'm shedding the pounds to raise some cash for the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children.

When I saw the appeal to join 'Team Daisy' how could I say no - having a little Daisy of my own! I aim to loose a stone in weight by my birthday on May 29 - it's only giving me 2 months to do it - but I have a great incentive.
