What a fantastic turn out on the loveliest night of the year.
Bald is beautiful.
Because? ............... A short while ago a very good friend of mine, Doreen, was diagnosed with Breast cancer. Doreen is one of the cheeriest, most optomistic people I know but the idea of losing her hair simply filled her with dread. So on the 19th August, my 55th birthday I shall have my head shaved and we shall face the world together, hairless. Well, pretty much. The bits that show anyway!
I know that my friends and family will dig deep into their pockets and give generously and I have great hopes that everyone who reads this will do likewise.
There are countless very worthwhile charities we could be supporting, and each will have special significance to many people. However, Sue Ryder Care (Moggerhanger) supports and cares for all those with serious life threatening illnesses and their families. The only sure and certain thing in life is death, and whilst neither Doreen nor I are planning to leave this mortal coil in the near future, our time will come, as will yours.
Please come along to the White Horse on the 19th August. I've never had a birthday party, so join me for this one. Don't buy a card........make a donation instead
