Story
A sincere thank you from me for getting well and truly behind my recent
efforts in support of The BT Sport Relief Million Pound Bike Ride.
As you know, I was approached by David Walliams to take on the role of "Fundraising Guru" in support of him and six other celebrity pedal-pushers - Jimmy Carr, Fearne Cotton, Miranda Hart, Patrick Kielty, Russell Howard and Davina McCall - who successfully cycled a gruelling near 1,000 miles from John O'Groats to Lands End as part of the massive Sport Relief fundraising effort, which culminated this last weekend with the 2010 Sport Relief Mile.
My task was to encourage businesses to make their mark and get involved, which I did through my website at: www.peterjones.tv. We gave each company a mention on the site to shine the spotlight on the scores of businesses and employees nationwide who made a donation.
Your support was fantastic, very much appreciated by everyone involved and extremely gratefully received. Thank you. In total, you helped me raise £101,300 towards the overall sum achieved by David and the team - which currently stands at: £1,337,099. The overall Sport Relief total raised was £36 million. These are the latest figures on the Sport Relief website (www.sportrelief.com) and I would encourage you to visit the site to keep up-to-date on these numbers and to see how your donation is to be spent on making a huge difference in people's lives, both abroad and here in the UK. Once again, thank you for getting involved, it meant a lot to me, to David and his team, and I know it will do to the many people it will help.
Thanks again for your invaluable support.
