Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be part of a 60-strong group walking up Mount Snowdon on 5th September 2009.
We are rasing money for A Wa Po (http://www.awapo.co.uk/) and Sophie's Appeal (http://www.sophiesappeal.org/) - two fantastic children's charities.
Why have I chosen these charities.
Sophie's Appeal: Having met Lin Barringer, I was struck by her dedication to helping other children and their families following the death of her own child, Sophie at the age of 6. I think I would have retreated into self-pity, but Lin has shown immense courage and enterprise.
A Wa Po: Berni Wideman, a very thoughtful young man who I've known for many years, is raising funds to support A Wa Po - a charity that is building a school for physically disabled children in Nigeria. Berni lived in Nigeria when he was growing up and saw the plight of physically disabled children at first-hand. This school will enable under-privileged children in Nigeria to become independent and sustain their own livelihoods.
It is their dedication which has led me to undertake such an enterprise!! I've done at least 30 mins of rigorous training in preparation!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
