Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So please dig deep and donate now.

I have run (run???) the GNR five times in the last fifteen years - this is number six.

This time it's for Age UK in memory of my Mum, Amy Valerie Noble, who died last year.

3rd March, 1932 - 17th February, 2009.

I hope to raise at least 350 pounds for Age UK, 500 pounds would be great for this GNR, and one thousand pounds would be a dream come true. They can do so much with this money, so give them a chance to do so. You'll never regret it. Thanks - on behalf of all those who are getting on a bit and need a little extra help.

That's what families are for, so join this one, please.

Friday 25th June, 2010: just back from jog and already rather warm - ladies 'glow'. Already 25% towards target of £500 within 24 hours thanks to friends who want to give to AgeUK. Great!

Tuesday 29th June 2010: managed some runs/walking and bike rides so far. If I do not get out in the morning (best time for running) it has to be a bike ride in the afternoon or evening.......that works, especially if the bike ride is to town or the library, or a shop - esp one which allows you to take your bike in!!! Some do! We need more facilities for bikes in Durham - railings will simply not suffice - but it IS good exercise training!

This week - Tuesday 6th July 2010: running getting a bit better over the last five days or so but quite honestly, the walk up the hill at the end of it is good for the leg muscles! If I do not get out in the morning before breakfast, it has to be a four mile cycle later in the day! I am opting to walk rather than take the car - good for everyone!

Ian, my long-suffering husband, has got my bike out of the shed and this allows exercise even when not actually out for a run.

Well, approaching the end of July and whilst my leg and muscles are stronger the knees are not doing so well - particularly my left knee. Just as well that our new acquisition of Barley the 8 month old labrador puppy (puppy???) means I walk right now and avoid running too much to allow my knee to improve. I have lost some weight, which is good, and this allows me better movement in my legs.

August - left knee has caused some problems BUT I am still moving! Not fast, but getting there. Cannot believe there is only 3 weeks left - how can that be???

Early September - will I make it through?????

Thinking of Mum.

7th September 2010

Got my number 54377 - watch me drag myself through it all....

Need more donations to reach my target - PLEASE!!!!!!

3miles - now for breakfast tea. Mum would have liked the tea!

18th September 2010.

I start in Zone K right at the back......

Scared that I will not make it through the whole 13.1 miles........

Monday 20th September 2010

I DID IT!!!!! 3.5 HOURS - LONG TIME 11.15-14.45 BUT I AM UNFIT!!!!!

THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO HAS SUPPORTED ME - IT IS SO APPRECIATED!
