Unfortunately its not something she can now recover from and consequently is between hospital and a nursing home. Despite everything, she has kept the great sense of humour we know her for and generally remains positive. But, I would love to turn that humour and positivity into a lasting memory for her and show her just how much she means to us.

I was hoping I could ask all my 254 FB friends to send her a card that will make her smile. Whether it be hand made by you or your children, displaying flowers or a retro pic with a speech bubble, whatever! She loves cards and regulary asks for them to be re-read.

I know you wont all know her of course, but she is wonderful like all our mums! And any positive message would be a great read.

For every card received I will donate 1 pound to the British Liver Trust, so thats potentially 254 pounds going straight to charity, and a charity that more and more people are now receiving support from due to the increase in this disease, and not just through alcohol abuse.

Even better, if you can send this on the details to your FB friends to get more cards on their way to my mum, I will donate a further 50p for all cards received from indirect friends to a maximum of 350 pounds.

I do feel vaguely cheeky asking but I know I'd do it for others, and she would be totally blown away. If the majority can be sent this Saturday 14th April, she should then receive a good bundle on Monday next week.

Please address all cards to
Penny Portlock
C/O Twin Oaks Nursing Home
Chapel Break
Norwich
NR5 9NJ

Can ask you to sign it off with your first and second name, post on this event page on FB once sent so we can track them, I will message you once received and will regularly update on numbers and donations. Hopefully I will be skint.

Go on, do your bit! (for me and mum)

Thank you.xx
