You won't find this perfume in a department store or boutique. It exists only in the mind of an eight-year-old boy called Jay. Jay is deafblind, and the familiar smell of his mother’s perfume is the only way he can recognise her. At Sense, we understand how to make the most of deafblind children's existing senses, such as touch or smell. That's why, every day after school, Jay is given a handkerchief with a few drops of his mother's favourite scent. That way, he knows it's home time!
Your donations can help children like Jay learn to communicate in their own special way with their family, friends and a world they can't see or hear properly.
· £10 could help buy a resonance board so a Deafblind child can feel the vibrations of playtime
· £25 could pay for a fibre optic light for a Sense specialist worker to use on a home visit
· £50 could help pay for a Deafblind child's first vital assessment with Sense
· £125 could help pay for a weekend of fun and learning for a child at a Sense Family Centre
