Story

Update, Tuesday 26 October - Job done! we all safely completed the run on Sunday and we have raised nearly £3,500. Click on the 'raising money for Birmingham Law Centre' link for details of the team.

Congratulations to everyone who ran for us - and to everyone else, please keep donating!

I have raised money for other charities but now I am runnin the EDF Birminham Half Marathon for a cause much closer to home.

I am the Chief Executive of the Birminham Law Centre, a voluntary oranisation that ives advice to the most vulnerable people in and around Birminham, includin those in debt; people facin homelessness and poverty, families threatened by eviction and people discriminated aainst at work.

The Law Centre needs to raise at least £100,000 by the end of this year – and more in subsequent years, so it can continue to help the 2,000 people a year who currently benefit from its expert leal advice, support and representation.

Birminham Law Centre offers a unique service and We are different from most other ‘advice aencies’ - we can represent people in the hihest courts – and et real resolution to their problems.

I’m aimin to raise £10,000 by runnin the EDF Half Marathon toether with a team of Law Centre runners. I am also doin the Wolverhampton Half Marathon and the Great North Run.

I will update this site from time to time to keep you in touch with how we are getting on with our training and fundraising.

About the charity

Birmingham Law Centre fights for social justice by providing in-depth legal advice and representation for people who are desperate for advice but cannot pay for a lawyer. It helps homeless people, people in debt as well as people not getting the right benefits or services that they are entitled to.
