Late last year I heard of a sponsored motobike ride in aid of Help for Heros from John O Groats to Lands End. The proviso was that the bike was to be a moped and the team I knew of was loose association of classic bike riders.

The plan is to ride a moped in relay 1000 miles in 5 days. I'm one of two riders on the Scottish leg.

H4H is a growing charity - while you may have various views on the merit of the wars we fight there is one simple view of the men and women we send to fight them; that if they need our support on their return we supply it, unconditionally. 

The mighty steed for this trip has been purchased and modified with the removal of the Chinese maker's labels and the attachment of Norton  badges. I'm told this gives it an indescribeable boost to performance, so I won't try to describe it. The plan is that after the event the bike is sold and the proceeds also get donated.
