As a father, I really feel for those children who have to battle with illness every day. I wonder how I would feel if something happened to one of my children. To think that I would not be able to make my child's dream come true would be unbearable.

Thankfully, Wishes 4 Kids are around and is a charity that tries to make the hopes and dreams of children come true.

Partly because I am mad, and partly because I want the miles I ride on my bike to mean something more than just personal achievement, I along with three other police officers will be cycling 999 miles from John O'Groats down to Lands End. I am hoping that a significant amount of money can be raised for this amazing charity. 

Please can you all dig into your back pockets, skip that packet of fags or that pint down the pub and just give what little you can. Maybe between us, we can help that one child have their dream come true.
