Fundraising for Abandoned Street Kids of Brazil - Task Brasil
Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm attempting to cross South America East to West, solo and on foot, from the Atlantic coast in Brazil to the Pacific coast in Peru, following the mighty Amazon river from sea to source to sea, primarily as a personal challenge, but I also wanted to give something back to the host countries I'm planning to cross.
I found out about the charity Task Brazil a few years back and was very impressed with their incredible work in helping rescue some of the most impoverished and abandoned young people from the streets and favela's of Rio de Janeiro helping them with their education and ultimately their future lives, you never know, a future Olympic medalist, world cup footballer, astronaut or even a future president of Brazil could be someone born in the favellas of Rio.
I hope to briefly visit the charity in Rio on route to the start of the challenge.
This will also give me more motivation, knowing I will be helping others in the process, to push on with my challenge, especially the many difficult days I will face.
