WOW !!! what a amazing experience .. one i will never forget ... i managed 3 hrs 38 min 2 secs which im really pleased with ... the crowd was incredible and really helped me over the closing miles .. and knowing that Emma and Isabella were there to cheer me on definately made me push as hard as my legs could handle, the last 3 miles are a blur but i still managed a smile as i crossed the line .. it's the most rewarding thing ive ever done and although i feel like ive been run over today i would do it all again !!! but not for a while :)
I have decided to run for Climb, a charity that is close to myself and Emma's heart.elped me through ...
When our beautiful daughter Isabella was born on 19th July 2008, we were the happiest people in the world. Then came every parents worst nightmere, a call from the doctor to say there was something wrong !!!
Isabella has a condition called MCADD which affects her digestive system, it's quite a rare condition with only 10,000 confirmed cases a year. Basically she needs to eat on a regular basis and this is something that she will carry with her for the rest of her life. However, this will not stop her leading a completely normal life, providing precautions are taken; and this has only strenthened our love for her .
Throughtout the past year we have received fantastic support from everyone involved in Isabella's wellbeing, from our own doctor to the doctors and nurses at the Leicester Royal Infirmary and the MCADD experts from across the country.
This is why I want to raise as much money as possible to help continue the research into MCADD and other rare metabolic condition's. This is my way of saying thank's to all the people that have helped us so far and I'm sure will continue to help in the future .
Please give what you can as every penny will help me through the training in the cold winter months in the lead up to the marathon (God Knows i'll need it), knowing I'm raising money for a worthwile cause will really motivate me!!!
My aim is to run it in 3 hrs 30min !!! So i think Emma's record will be safe this time, and I hope to raise at least £1250 for Climb.
