UPDATE

As you can see I have already hit my target. I want to thank everybody who has donated thus far.

As everyone has been so generous I have decided to challenge myself further and instead of raising the minimum amount I am now aiming higher. I WANT TO TRY AND RAISE £5,000 BEFORE I GO ON 24 SEPTEMBER 2010!

The cost of saving someone’s life for one year on Dialysis is £25,000. The money I raise can give someone a couple more months of life.

So, now that I have hit my target, let’s see how much further we can go!

As many of you will know, I have unfortunately been diagnosed with kidney disease.

I am in good health at the moment and hopefully will stay that way, although in the decades ahead there is a one in three chance I may need to go on dialysis and even have to have a kidney transplant.

As a result I have taken an interest in fundraising for Kidney Research and plan to do a trek in to raise money for the charity.

Kidney Research is an essential charity. Over three million people in the are under threat from chronic kidney disease; a number which is estimated to reach epidemic proportions over the next decade. No one knows who or when kidney disease may strike next. It could be any one of us, young or old.

Kidney Research funds life-saving research into kidney disease, it improves the quality of life of those with kidney disorders and seeks to increase public awareness of kidney health.

I would greatly appreciate your support to help me raise money for this very worthwhile cause.
