Story
This year Rightmove is sponsoring the MK marathon and half marathon. To celebrate this, we're going to try and raise £26,000 for charity.
I'm going to try and run, walk and, if necessary, crawl my way round the half marathon. Whilst it's only a half marathon, I haven't run anywhere since I was 15 and that's a few years ago. I'd also claim I was built for comfort, not speed... However, someone did say that to run any distance you just had to be stubborn and I can do that bit!
Why do this to myself? To remind me just how lucky I am. In December 2016 Phil, one of the many lovely Rightmovers and his wife Anne-Marie lost their baby Joshua to Meningitis.
Meningitis is one of those things that sounds like it happens to someone else, but it doesn't. It happens to normal people who are living their lives just like the rest of us and when meningitis happens it rips their world apart in a way that is painful to think about. So how about we do something about it - that's what Meningitis Now do. Not just funding great research to find out how to stop this insidious disease, but also helping people like Phil and Anne-Marie when the worst happens.
