Well we’ve just finished the trip. Instead of the anticipated 137 mile route, we got lost and added another 15 miles of the most ridiculous terrain imaginable in torrential rain (I must learn how to read a map). We dipped our wheels in the Irish Sea, crossed the highest road in the country, at 2,056 ft, then back down to the North Sea. They even had the Red Arrows do a fly past for us in Newcastle, such was the achievement, although some may argue that this was in fact for the Great North Run.....

Thanks very much to everyone for their donations, it really is appreciated......and for those that haven’t yet, there’s still time!

To help raise some much needed funds, we have to travel by mountain-bike from Whitehaven, across the Lake District, over some bumps better known as the Pennines and down to Tynemouth. 140 miles, off road, for four unfit blokes better known for their drinking ability than their athleticism. Well it seemed like a good idea at the time!

The Haileybury Club is a charity that currently operates under the name of the Hoddesdon Boxing Academy. Amateur boxing is excellent in helping to develop confidence and self-esteem within young people, characteristics that will serve them throughout life. The coach’s all give up their time for free but it still costs a lot of money to run a purpose built gym so, please help if you can.
