Story
The John Waterhouse Project (JWP) in Kenilworth is run by Action for Children and supports disabled children and their families by providing residential short breaks, enabling respite for parents and other family members, whilst their child enjoys time at the Project.
My grandson (Neil's nephew) Elliot is severely autistic and attends JWP, who work in partnership with parents and children to help young people achieve their potential by gaining new experiences, friendships and developing independence away from home.
My son Neil and I are attempting to walk the 3 Peaks of Yorkshire, Pen-y-ghent, Whernside & Ingleborough, a total distance of 26 miles on the 15th June. We aim to complete this within the 12 hour qualifying time limit. I am now 72 years of age and this will involve training for many weeks. Elliot's dad, Ian, will be providing any support we may need along the way.
The respite that JWP provides, is vital. The children are happy, safe and well looked after and parents are then able to enjoy time with other family members and recharge their batteries. Please support us and help us to raise money for this much needed Project that makes a real difference to so many disabled children and their families.
