Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. In what only be described as a moment of madness at my age I`ve decided to trek across Iceland in August 2010 to raise money for Amnesty International. As you can see above I need to raise £3,000 for what I believe is a crucial cause:namely defending human rights.
To highlight the work of A.I. I have selected the case of Ebrima Manneh, a journalist from the Gambia who has been held incommunicado since July 2006, it is believed his arrest was connected to an attempt to print a BBC article critical of his Government. This is a journalist locked away merely for trying to print an article; his Government have denied any involvement in his disappearance or knowledge of his whereabouts. His family have no idea where he is.
I hope you will be able to sponsor me, it doesn`t matter how much, to enable Amnesty continue it`s work fighting for human rights around the world.
