Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

After the efforts of the Olympians and Paralympians during the 2012 Games in London, and the effects on my body of too many hours spent 'driving' my computer over the summer, time has come to follow their lead and give my ageing body a hard time!  Hence, over three days in September (14th - 16th) I'll be pedalling from Glasgow to john O'Groats on the final three stages of the Deloitte Ride Across Britain in aid of the British Paralympic Association. (http://www.rideacrossbritain.com/)

Being primarily a mountain and road runner, and having dabbled a little in mountain and road biking in the past, this will be a real baptism of fire!

Day 1 will see me ride 127 miles from Hamilton (Glasgow) to Fort William, including over 6000 ft/2000m of climbing;

Day 2,  from Fort William to Kyle of Sutherland, 111 miles and 5300ft/1700m of climbing;

Day 3, from Kyle of Sutherland to John O'Groats, 104 miles and 4140ft/1400m of climbing;

My aim here is to raise £250 or more for this worthy charity which promotes Paralympic sport in the UK.

So please dig deep and donate now.
