Story

Hi, I've now completed the jump on 19 November 2011.

I can honestly say it was the scariest thing I've ever done. Strangely despite my fear I now have the urge to do another just for the hell of it. I'm also doing the three peaks walk in July which will also be for Guide Dogs so please feel free to sponsor me for that when the page becomes available.

A huge thanks to everyone for your support and it's not too late for you to still sponsor me if you haven't already. Also please check out the You Tube video on this page to see what happened on the big day!

Thanks again.

Peter

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I've been a guide dog owner for just over ten years. In that time all three of my guide dogs have helped in a huge way to change my life!

Guide dogs not only give their owners independence, loyalty and a massive increase in confidence, but they are also the other half of an amazing partnership.

Imagine being stuck at home, not being able to get out because you don't have the skills or the confidence, not being able to just go to the shops when you feel like it, or having that sense of loneliness that so many blind people have because they aren't able to just go and see friends and neighbours.

Having a guide dog changes all of that. Not just socially but for work too. So many blind people don't work for a variety of reasons. Having a guide dog can give them the confidence to take that first step back in to the world of work developing their skills and confidence in interacting with others.

I now have a good job which I love, lots of friends, vastly improved health and not to mention a level of independence I couldn't have dreamed of ten years ago.

Your donation to Guide Dogs will help ensure that thousands more visually impaired people are able to enjoy the independent and fulfilling life that I have experienced.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
