On the 20th July 2010 i will be embarking on a 11 day bike challenge from John O Groats, the most northern part of the UK, to the most southern point, Lands End.  I will be starting on my own, but will be joined throughout the trip by friends and family.  I will be averaging 80 to 90 miles a day, riding through stunning areas, such as the High Lands and the Lake District.

The reason for the ride is to raise money for Age Concern in the Dacorum area (Hertfordshire).  They have given support for the elderly in the area for many years. I became aware of them through my Nan (also known as Hackney Nan), who has received help and support from Age Concern, since my Grand dad sadly passed away. 

They both meet while cycling and have told me their stories of cycling through France in the late 1940's and I felt this trip would be a testament to them.
